This Christmas was all about the kiddies. Last year my niece Harlie was only 2 weeks old, My sister Julissa had a belly, and not to mention it was a pretty sad holiday due to two family losses. Though are hearts are still heavy we couldn’t sulk in sorrow. Christmas has an unwritten rule, pajamas all day!
Now that our family is expanding and the kids are a little bigger it’s time to start new traditions. As an adult the holidays tend to be pretty lame, so now that I had live humans to spoil, I’m going to go broke doing it.
Harlie is still learning how to walk, and my nephew Amaury is in his teething stages, and time seems to go by fast and slow all at the same time. My dad made a surprise appearance as Santa Clause to surprise his grand kids. They seemed more confused than anything, hahaha.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, surrounded by loved ones.
Many blessings to you all!

Our family has been dealing with yet another loss, and we’re all heart broken. Right before Thanksgiving my abuela Magaly passed away. She was the glue to it all.
It’s Christmas Eve and I get the news of yet another tragedy. My cousin Cesar is gone. I can’t even express the pain. Especially the way he went out. I call my mother and she’s already on her way to the airport, hoping she can test her luck at a last minute flight to Santo Domingo.
I do some hunting of my own and give her the details on a plane that leaves in 2 hours. She got it. I’m still on the hunt for some tickets myself. My mind is off in Dominican Republic, but physically, I’m stuck in New York City. I put on a brave face, and head off to meet my brother. I’m missing my cousin and I hate that I’m not over there with mi tia and mi abuela, but I’m here now. This is Harlie’s first Christmas, and we have to try to enjoy ourselves any way we can.
Harlie Alexa looks adorable in her Christmas onesie. She’s officially 2 weeks old, and is still so tiny. Our night in was pretty mellow. We watched about 5 Christmas movies, ordered some pizza and just spent the whole day in pajamas.
Taimaine’s Sully from Monster’s Inc. looked so cute on her, Kiki picked a great gift to get her.
My sister Julissa came over with her boo Mauricio, and I was so happy to see her. We don’t really get to see each other often since we’re so busy with life, and are stretched on opposites boroughs. Ever since she announced her pregnancy, she’s been going through so much nausea. I kept giving her hugs all night.
My dad was super sick and spent the whole time in bed, recovering from the flu. I guess the robe I got him came in handy when he finally showed face for about 2 minutes. This Christmas was not my favorite. The whole day I tried to stay distracted and held my tears in as long as I could. I cracked once I was in the car, when my uncle posted a video on Facebook of everyone gathered around my abuela’s house in D.R. The block was packed, everyone surrounding the hearse, paying their respects. I was bawling my eyes out and I tried my best to get myself together.
This year has taken a huge toll on me. So many changes, so many people leaving my life. So many are missed. Dealing with loss is hard. I’m grateful for all of you who have sent well wishes and prayers towards my way, towards my family’s healing. You are all appreciated.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I hope you cherish the time you have with loved ones. They’re priceless.

December means Holidays. Even though Christmas is so close, I still haven’t felt that spirit yet. Maybe because I’m an adult now, which means more responsibilities. The innocence is gone. You know, the purity of being a kid and everything is so shiny and new. Santa arrives and everything is joyful.
Today, I had some hints of joy myself. I’m so blessed to work somewhere that I love. Somewhere that I’m able to help other people. This holiday party was well spent, and let me tell you when I say I ate really well… I’m not lying. I was waddling back to desk, stuffed.
They rented out the restaurant for all of the staff. I chose a booth by the window, and my team decided to join me. We started with appetizers, dumplings and avocado rolls (so good, I had 3!). A salad was brought out for us, and then our entree. I ordered a rib eye steak with potatoes and greens, I don’t think I even had space for it all. Somehow I must have found some, because when dessert rolled around, I had pumpkin and apple pie on my plate… along with a cheesecake that was so moist and yummy.
What a wonderful beginning to this holiday season. On that note, I haven’t done any shopping yet. How are you guys doing with your list?

Pajama parties are the best…. pajama Christmas’s are even better.
It’s been a long time since my family has dedicated a whole day to just each other. This year, now that relationships are being mended it was time for a fresh start. I messaged my brothers and sister to arrive at the house at noon with their pj’s on. They all looked so cute.
Chris and I brought breakfast, spanish music was playing in the background, and my father just put on a pot of coffee on the stove.
We all caught up, drinking started early and presents were exchanged.
When I was younger we all used to play board games, and one of our favorites was Parcheesi. Granted we used to lose all of the pieces, and since we’re all so competitive there was a lot of screaming back and forth. Good to know a lot of things don’t change. I got the family a board and we were playing right away. Jeremy was super excited when he won the first round. My mother was playing teacher and enforcing all the rules to the game, it’s been so long since we have all played.
Now that we all had drinks in our system, we started dancing the night away.
I had such a blast, and I think it’s safe to say this has been one of my favorite Christmas’s, especially as an adult.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I know I sure have.

You know us latinos, Christmas is celebrated the day before.
Last year Christmas, Chris and I spent it at his aunt’s house in Jersey. This year we decided to keep it a bit local. Our initial plan was to just stay at his house, but I changed my mind fairly quickly, when I learned my abuela had been asking for me. I felt bad about telling Chris to drive all the way to Brooklyn, but I really wanted to stop by and see her, and since I was already going to be out there, I might as well stop by my brother’s as well.We started our night with a full feast at Chris’s momma’s house. The table was filled buffet style, pernil, rice, mac and cheese, I made some baked ziti and so many other things I can’t even recall right now, just know that it was good, and gone in about 2 minutes. I chugged my wine and was ready for round 2, change of environment that is.We pulled up to my parent’s house, who weren’t even home, and decided maybe it was for the best anyway. We were crunching time and maybe we should head to Brooklyn already anyway.
When I walked in, abuela looked so surprised, she had no idea I was coming. We exchanged hugs and I told her not to kill me, since I barely show up to visit anymore. She was just glad I was there.
I got to see some of my cousins, and all of their babies are getting big so fast.
Time to switch it up. Our arrival at my brother’s place was filled with open arms, and questions to why we got there so late. Every one had been drinking at it was time for us to catch up a bit.
My brother Luis has done a great job keeping up Christmas family style. Something that I always appreciate.
His style of his hosting reminds me so much when I used to be a kid. The little ones running around, counting down until 12am, so they could open their presents, while the adults caught about and spoke about grown up stuff until the clock stroke. Except this time I was on the other side, I’m the grown up telling the kids not to run in the house, and to behave or else Santa will know that they have misbehaved. Where has the time gone?
The kids bolted to the tree at 11:58pm, just waiting, watching, desperate to rip through packages. Way too cute.
I had a great time for Christmas Eve, I even got to meet my brand niece Khloe.
Ugh, She is absolutely adorable. Cutest chunky cheeks ever.
How do you and your loved ones celebrate?

Before I get started, I want to wish you all a very happy holiday, no matter what you may celebrate and/or believe in. We all deserve to be surrounded by great vibes and positivity, and I hope each and everyone of you get to find that.I packed a bag with me, after rushing out of my house in the morning, running late after a long night out. Work never seemed to end, but once 2pm hit, I was out of there like speedracer. Chris was picking me up and our plans for later, were just that..much later. I just wanted to take a huge nap. I was exhausted. Once I laid down, I realized I couldn’t even do that, since I packed random crap into my bookbag, I realized with my white skirt, I needed to go outside and buy a nude thong. The silly things girls have to go through, I swear. You guessed it, I got no nap.
The weather wasn’t on our side today, even though it was nice and warm, the rain and my hair have never been much of friends. I’m just glad it didn’t get all poofy, and I end up looking like a brillo pad. That was the last thing I needed, especially since our plans for the night were to head to Chris’s aunt, Annette’s house. I know I was going to see familiar faces, and was happy to see them. When we arrived, there was smiles everywhere. Everyone was so eager to see each other, especially since the four sisters (Annette, Chris’s Mom, Millie and 2 other sisters) were all going to be together after so many years. Watching them catch up and laugh with each other was the sweetest thing.Chris cooked a pernil which was to die for! Annette had everything from baked ziti, mac and cheese, rice, potato salad, shrimp, omg… I’m drooling all over again.
There was even arts and crafts for the kiddies. Which Matt and I happily joined in on. Big kids.
It didn’t take long for us to grow up and grab some drinks. I was in more of a wine mood, but that didn’t stop me from having about 4 shots of Rumplemints. Ahhh… Sammy (Chris’s uncle) is no joke.
There was a lot of dancing, everyone was feeling the buzz. Whenever we go out there we usually end up passed out on the couch. This night was no exception.
In the morning, we all had a pretty good breakfast with all the leftovers. Who needs coffee, when Sammy is offering more beer to you as soon as you wake up. Day 2, drinking aaaaaall day.
Samara was ready to open presents. Absolutely everything she got was “Frozen” themed. I on the other hand, knew this was going to happen… so I opted out for a puffer vest and matching pants that I found to be way too adorable.
Well, I hope you guys had a wonderful time with your friends, family, loved ones. I know I did.
See you guys soon! ♥, Minx
Ps. Check out the “Mini Me” I illustrated of my outfit.
