If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this, life is full of moments worth remembering, not just the big milestones, but the hugs, the quick laughs, the chaos, the tiny in-between gestures that make your family and your celebrations yours. That’s exactly what I’m there to capture.

Photo Journal: Latin Festival- Stratford Knows How To Party

Stratford, CT, you really said “vamos a bailar“, and wow, you really meant it!

Yesterday I finally experienced the Latin Festival everyone keeps raving about—and wow, you weren’t exaggerating. The Stratford Hispanic Heritage Committee threw down for their 20th Anniversary Latin Music Festival, and let me tell you, this town knows how to celebrate. With Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15–Oct 25) officially underway, the timing couldn’t have been better.

Yesterday was my very first time attending, and let me just say… I get it now. I came prepared like a pro festival-goer: packed chairs, snacks, and picked the perfect shady spot under a tree. (Did I need snacks? Nope. With all those food vendors, I should’ve come hungry.)

From the first performance, it was pure magic—local dance schools absolutely brought the energy, and the crowd was eating it up. But the Peruvian dancers? They stole the whole show. The colors of their traditional outfits were so vibrant they could have powered the stage lights themselves. And the way they hyped up the crowd? Unreal. Stratford was basically one big dance floor for a minute.

Of course, I couldn’t resist snapping photos. It wasn’t official—just me, my camera, and a soft spot for families having a blast. I’ve already shared the gallery with Stratford residents so they can find their own smiling faces, just like I did back in June with the Stratford Festival. After a year and a half of living here, I’m still blown away by how much community Stratford has. People show up for each other, they celebrate loudly, and they make you feel like you’re part of something bigger. My heart is full, and you can bet I’ll be back next year, front row, camera in hand, dancing, and loving every second.

Brewing Up Love and Celebration at Simple Motive Brewery

Kimberly and Mike didn’t just throw an engagement party—they created an unforgettable celebration of love, community, and culture. Set against the warm, lively backdrop of Simple Motive Brewery in Yonkers, NY, their event was filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of dancing.

The staff—special shoutout to Zach, who made sure I went home with a 4-pack of their finest IPA—were incredible, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The vibe was equal parts cozy and festive. A special touch? Kimberly set up a domino table in the corner, a beautiful nod to her Puerto Rican heritage that brought people together for games and stories. It was one of those details that showed how much thought she poured into the event.

DJ Solo kept the dance floor alive, weaving a mix of classics and crowd-pleasers, with salsa being the clear favorite. Watching Kimberly and Mike sneak off for quick spins around the dance floor was a photographer’s dream. Capturing those candid, love-filled moments? Pure gold.

Beyond the engagement, the day also honored Kimberly’s father, who turned an incredible 80 years young. His energy was infectious as he danced with all four of his daughters, each moment brimming with pride and love. Seeing him lead the dance floor was a highlight of the evening—and a reminder that joy knows no age.

Kimberly and her close college friends doubled the celebration by toasting to their graduation. The joy was contagious, and it’s safe to say they brought the party vibes.

On another note, Kimberly’s four sisters were a riot, each one with a personality that filled the room with laughter. From cracking jokes to asking for impromptu photo sessions—yes, one needed a new dating profile pic—their personalities lit up the room. And trust me, when she saw her new headshot, the compliments came pouring in.

Gabby’s session was all about capturing her and her two adorable babies. We kicked things off by raiding her closet—yes, you read that right! As Gabby started picking out clothes for her little ones, I gently stopped her and said, “Hold up. We dress Mom first.”

Why? Because as moms, we’re always putting our kids first. Every decision, every chore, every priority revolves around them. But this session? This is about you. It’s about putting yourself first, even if just for a moment. Once Gabby’s outfit was sorted, we coordinated pieces for her little ones to match her effortless vibe.
