Puerto Rico 2015:Day 1: Arrival, Colon & Nuyoricans

It’s 7pm, we are stuffed beyond explanation. But first, we arrived at our first Airbnb, safe and sound. The owner Monica is super chill and gave us a few pointers on where to go in the plaza. Chris and I headed to Christopher Columbus’s castle, which was huge but  non- the less beautiful. The view was exhilirating. The humidity wasn’t my favorite, but the breeze that was going on was absolutely perfect.
We walked, we walked a lot. My hair and I , we have parted ways a long time ago. We walked into a tiny restaurant called “Mojitos” and even though we didn’t have any, the piña coladas with rum were delicious. The mofongo was and on point and some special sauce that was with it, was soooo amazing. It was infused with garlic and lemon, I need to learn how to duplicate that now!

Chris is busy bonding with a Puerto Rican map and a flashlight, while I’m laying down rubbing my stomach, I’m so full, and it feels so good! It was time to head back out again. Dancing started late, but once it did, what a blast. We walked into a tiny lounge called Nuyorican Cafe, an over air conditioned lounge for a reason. Since we arrived a little early, Chris was freezing and I could tell he was getting grouchy but tried his best to hide it. I on the other hand simply ignored it and kept jamming to the salsa that was playing. The opening band was good, it had a bit of an island feel to it. But I was there for the salsa, I couldn’t wait for the other band to arrive. 4 Beers later, it was time to get moving.

Chris swears he doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s a liar. After a while he started correcting me on how to turn the right way. Ew. Check him out getting all cocky.

City Shooting: Strolling Downtown Brooklyn

Sometimes whenever life gets a little hectic, I try to find the simpler things to bring me a bit of instant happiness. may it be cooking, dancing in front of the mirror, watching a chick flick or having a glass of wine, that escape is always needed. During one my lunch breaks, I had to escape from my window-less office. I took a stroll and brought out my camera (canon rebel t3i) that I named Belle, she’s my baby. Since I usually shoot in color when it comes to my everyday life, whenever shooting still life I like to practice my black and white. And no, not changing the color to black and white after the shot has been captured. The old school black and white, right at the moment.

I bumped into  this beautiful dress in the window, a brick arched alleyway leading to a restaurant that was beautiful lit. I bumped into this house with a nice huge window in the front, but even better than that, the gloomiest tree right in front of it, I felt like it was Amityville’s Horror ‘s home. Creepy!

Tell me what you guys think!

I need to take out Belle out on a date more often.

Behind The Scenes: Jordana and Renee

IMG_5093IMG_5088UntitledHi guys and gals!

Here are some Behind The Scenes shots of my recent photo shoot with model Jordana and photographer Renee from ReneeMode.com . I love shooting outdoors and I hope I get more opportunities to do so. The sun is the best lighting there is. Jordana was a sweet and super quiet, shyest model I have seen yet!

Renee and I have been discussing for a few months now, a new series we want to work on, but with full schedules, it’s been a bit tough. We considered this our test shoot, to see how we work together and what we want to work on for the next one, and we learned a lot from each other.

I hope you guys enjoys these behind the scenes pics I took of Renee at work, unfortunately I didn’t get any of me at work.. serves me right, I looked like a hot mess anyway!1cb375036ff5b6d0a8b411e038b0949d
