Get Another Bucket, Fuck It

I needed to get out of the house. I was dealing with a hangover from hell that insisted I stay in bed, and no it wasn’t mine. I tried my best to not let it get the best of me, if at all costs, I considered myself more than patient. Hours passed away, and my boredom started to strike heavy. It was selfish really on both parts, and in my defense one side was unhealthy.
My brother Kiki was the first on my text messaging list. ” Please tell me you’re bored and you want to do something tonight”. He was on his way to pick up his girl Taimane, and suggested for me to be ready on his way back uptown. Like I needed any convincing.
I craved mozzarella sticks more than Chris lusted over those beers. “Let’s get another bucket, fuck it”. After the third one and splitting ourselves in all kind of ways that teams could be split, it was a good night.
Though I only won a single round of pool, all I needed was to get out of the house, be around people who made me laugh and you know…. chomp down on some cheese sticks.

London |Fish and Chips

We’re exhausted, all in different levels. We had to be out of the house in Madrid at 6am. Chris and Pia took a hefty little nap while Nikki and cleaned up the space and packed up all of our things. I’m glad I wasn’t drinking too crazy. I got no sleep, and managed to get Chris and I ready and out the door.

Finding a cab was pretty quick, thank goodness, because all the noise we were making that early in the morning, think cobblestones and rolling luggage. Honestly, I don’t even think it mattered that much, there were still so many drunkies out partying and hanging out in the streets.

Our flight from Madrid to London was fairly quick, we all pretty much took a nap since we didn’t get any sleep before. Our layover in Lonson is only about 6 hours, and we were determined to make the best of it. We had to get back to the airport at least 3 hours before our departure, and taking the metro out of Gatwick airport into London Victoria was 30 minutes ride each way. We had about an 2 hours to get it all out of system, and not to mention how to figure out how to get there.

We all had some sort of carry on bag with us, and leaving our luggage at the airport was tricky due to the long line. We struggled with our bags and made it work… off to the the Buckingham Palace. Holy crap… London is hectic, there were so many tourists, more than Madrid and Paris combined, at least in my opinion. Signs of CCTV surveillance were everywhere, I guess you know, with the Queen and all.

There were guards making their way in and out of the palace, and everyone was waiting to see if any of the royal family would make an appearance, there was no such luck.

We kept on walking and trooped it to the in famous Big Ben, the clock tower that over looks London, it was so tall and pretty! I think we went a little nuts when we saw the red telephone booths, everyone was making lines just to snap a pic.

Even though we didn’t have time to actually go inside anywhere we managed to pull off a quick lunch we could take back for the ride back to the airport. Fitgi and I ordered some fish and chips. While the chips weren’t really appeasing, the fish was quite decent, especially after you haven’t had anything to eat in a couple of hours.

My feet were killing me, I was actually looking forward to that 8 hour flight back home, just so I can kick my feet up and do nothing for a while!

Madrid |A Night Like Tonight

After the Flamenco show it was time for a night cap, some of us wanted to party a bit in our last night in Madrid, some of us wanted sleep. We split our ways, and with a night like tonight..it was time to dance.

We walked into a bar.. sounds like I’m starting off a really bad joke. Everyone had been drinking about the whole day, and I was the only one sober, which was a bit confusing since I was the one with the most energy. Hey, all I need is really loud music and I’m ready to party.

The bartenders didn’t understand anything we tried to order, and I was speaking perfect spanish. All Pia wanted was whiskey on the rocks, I thought I was explaining how to perform heart surgery. We still didn’t get what we wanted. On the bright side, literally when the bartenders lit the bar on fire it caught us all by surprise and got us pumped up..
Time for the next stop. The dj at this first place only kept playing old songs… I swear, I think they only play what they think tourists want to hear, hate it. We finally got some good music pumping, the pizza at the end of our night was on point, wish I could have one of those slices right now.

Madrid |Flamenco en Villa Rosa

It’s our last night in Madrid, and there’s no leaving España without watching a bull fight or seeing a flamenco show, and since bull fighting was out of season, you all know where we headed. Villa Rosa was a little tricky to get reservations for, but it was worth all the hassle.

We walked in to the dimmed restaurant and the first thing you see is a well light stage.I was excited. I wasn’t really hungry and I told myself I wouldn’t be drinking. Everyone’s meal looked delicious, though I was set in my ways with just water, bread and some black olives. For some reason I couldn’t force myself to eat at that was okay. The dancers came out on stage and the singing started. They build up was anticipating up to all the dancing. The first flamenco dancer  had a butt on her, and she was sexual in all the ways her body twitched. It was nice, and I know all the guys were loving the view. Their eyes were practically popping out of their sockets, and their tongues rolling down on the floors.

The next dancer was a guy that blew everyone out of the water, I don’t think anyone expected him to be as good as he was. He absolutely killed it.

As soon as the show was over, Fitgi was clapping and stepping all over the streets, I guess it comes natural when your’e a dancer.
