In between all of the drawings and photography sessions in my life, I try my best to always make time for family. The kiddies are growing a little too quickly. My niece Harlie is one and already
walking, running everywhere. and my nephew Amaury is turning 1 soon, and is still working on trying to get his first tooth.
I try my best to take advantage when everyone is a bit dressed up, and set my camera close to me. There’s something personal about catching loved ones candidly. I’m a big fan of having your personality shine through. And since babies grow so quickly, I try to catch all of their innocent moments before it’s too late.
Today we got the big news that we’ll be having another little rugrat to spoil, and I’m so eager to have another little to capture and give all my hugs to.

If you’ve been around long enough, you know I usually start off with “Sundays are for family”. Well this Sunday, qualifies as well. When you have friends who have stuck around for many years, you know that’s family by initiation.
Harlie is three months already. My gorgeous god-daughter. she’s kicking like the soccer player she’s trying to become.
Alex came over to watch some movies with us, Ivelisse came after with her too cute daughter Kaylee… her cheeks, my goodness, I just want to squeeze them. Jhonny came by a little later, and it was so nice to see him feeding his god daughter, he’s so smitten with her. He kept saying he was going to steal her away! (NEVER!)
We started to play Bingo, and Kiki and Mami ended up kicking my ass. I’m going to have to start thinking of better bets, because since Kiki won, he gets to choose the movie for next Sunday… and you know it’s going to be some action movie with blood and a whole bunch of fighting.
Wait until I win a round, chick flicks all day!

This weekend was all about babies. My nephew Tristan and niece Khloe were visiting abuelos house, a place where my brother Lu insisted that they could do whatever they want, break a window and everything will be okay. That’s when my mother yells from the other room ” Yeah, right!”
The weather was nice, it was bright and sunny, and you know me, ready to snap away. Tris and I were rocking our matching curls, and my dad was grilling away. I’m always in the mood for burgers, and when I was caught frying an egg to add to mine, my father looked at me like I was weird, little did he know how delicious it was, and mami agreed. My next burger (because why would I only have one?) included avocado and adding a little bit of ranch sauce, Kiki was a fan. Damn, I wish I had one of those right now.
Today was all about Khloe, Koko was being passed around from one pair of arms to the next. I was especially happy when Kiki’s girlfriend Taimane made an appearance. We all tend to get together on weekends, but she usually tends to hide under a rock, something I wish she wouldn’t do. We’re all here together, let’s get together.
Tonight was great, we played parchessi, like we do almost every time, and I lost, terribly. Once we played dominoes though.. everyone got an ass whipping.

So many cousins, so many babies, so many birthdays, so much cake.
My cousin Ciara’s baby boy Elijah turned 6, and he’s such a cutie.
I was running a bit late, and I was kicking myself in the ass for it. Luckily for me, I was one bus ride away that took forever to get to me, but once on, I arrived pretty damn quickly, thank goodness. I was so happy to see all of my primas, almost all of them had taken a vacation to Dominican Republic for the holidays, to go visit some more family. So I can in with bags of presents ready to give out that never made it to their possession from Christmas.
Ciara had the cutest desserts set up for everyone to devour, my favorite was a white chocolate strawberry that was covered in sugar. I was a good girl though and only had one…but I wasn’t too good, because I had like 3 slices of pizza to match.
Almost all of cousins have babies, and it’s just 2 of us now, baby less… or at least I thought… my cousin Janneice is pregnant and I couldn’t be more excited for her and husband. That’s when the girls started to pick on me, saying I was the last one left… hey, by the time I have mine, all of theirs will be grown and babysitting my kid. haha
Hey with all these kids around me, I don’t need to be popping anything out just quite yet.
I kept busy throughout the night chasing the kiddies around and capturing some random moments. These kids are hilarious. Let me let you guys scroll these pics, I’ll be back soon, especially since I had to go meet Tanya right after this kiddie fest.

While hanging out with Judy, while I worked on some pictures that I needed to edit from a family shoot I had earlier this week…. Judy was on mommy mode. I decided to take a quick break from the computer screen and from our gossip and take a few pics of her baby girl Sophia. This little girl is such a momma’s girl, let me tell you! She can’t be apart from Jud for like a minute without stretching her vocal chords. ♥ I grabbed a sequined fabric I had laying around and just a snapped a quick pic, isn’t she the cutest!?

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was in charge of the photography for my niece Magelis and nephew Jonahs’s baptism. So of course, not only was I taking candids, which I love taking… I had to get some posed shots as well. Cute babies and beautiful family members, easy enough. After the mass, the church had a cute little garden right next to it, and natural light is a girl’s best friend.
I grabbed a table cloth from the church that I “borrowed” so these chunky babies can lay down and not mess up their all white attire. Jonahs was a little cranky, but after a few tears he managed to look at the camera, maybe because I had like 5 people behind me making funny faces and calling him over.
GJ (short for Genesis Jasmine, Lionela‘s cutsie daughter) is awesome to point the camera at. Mind you, she wouldn’t just give me a regular smile the whole time, infamous for her funny faces.
When we got back to Sasha and Ramgy’s place, Ceci was in charge of the cake, which was way too cute.
Stay posted for the next post, where we get a little crazy celebrating Dominican style.

My not so baby cousin is officially 19 years young. I arrived early and got to help my godmother with all the shopping for the BBQ that was happening tonight. You had to see us, running around that supermarket like crazy ladies. We were running short on time and had so much to do. Raymond was expecting about 15 friends to come through and it was time for the grilling to begin, My godmother being the pro that she is, was on point and finished everything just as needed. The hookah was out and orange vodka was being passed around. Silly us forgot to bring out the cake that my cousin Sasha went nuts to get, so with most of his friends gone, Happy Birthday was sang with his tight close friends and family. Not a bad deal anyway.
Love you Raymond, wish you the best in life always.
