Family: Gender Reveal, Luis or Jenna?

My brother Luis and my new sister in law Jen are expecting. Which is pretty exciting, especially since this will be baby number 5 for my siblings. Everyone kept asking each other what they wanted the baby to be.  I personally had no preference, as long as the baby is healthy. I now have 2 nieces and 2 nephews, so this baby would have been a tie breaker anyway…. we just want to see you here!

The couple wanted to something pretty small and intimate for the gender reveal, and since everyone is a fan of burgers and beers, a BBQ it was. (We love those)
The cake was adorable with a “twinkle twinkle little star theme”… I personally was a big fan of the yuca with red onions and carne that was being served. Gotta love latin food.

When it was time to reveal the gender, I absolutely loved my brother’s reaction… especially since he was team girl. Now we all can’t wait until baby Jenna is here so we can smother her with kisses.
Check out his priceless reaction in the video below!

Someone’s graduating in 4 days and I couldn’t be prouder!
He’s too cool to get excited and keeps shrugging it off, but that’s alright because I’m ecstatic for him.
My baby brother is semi- adulting right now, and I’m so blessed to have such a responsible and charasmatic young adult around me. Not many get to walk across that stage, let alone get a full scholarship to their top choice college.    You’re going places baby, make us proud!

Family: Four Fathers

Back to back barbecues, you gotta love a man on a grill. This time, four of my favorite men were to be celebrated while we chowed down on some burgers. My father Fon had all his kids here, (there’s five of us) and almost every one of us is making him a grandpa. This is Chris’s, and Mauricio’s second father’s day, and my brother Luis is ready to bring in another blessing into the family.
This time, we also stuffed our faces with steaks and ribs, and you better believe I snuck some pieces into a tupperware for tomorrow’s work lunch.
I took a little walk with Luis and his girlfriend Jen to take some pictures of the lovebirds and the belly. I’ll be sharing some of those soon, so stay tuned! (And if you’re already following me on instagram, you’ve already seen a few.)
For all of the father’s that raise us, we love you,

A couple of weeks ago now, my brother was hit by car. By the grace of God, he’s with us alive and well, just limping a little bit. Since he’s been on bed rest for a little while, and probably bored out of his mind–One of his close friends, Alex wanted to throw him a little barbecue to get him out of the house… even if it may it be only a few feet away.
It was a nice night, and such a nice gesture. I woke up early to  clean the back yard a bit, and a few moments later, Alex and I were in Costco stocking up on supplies (and yes I made him push me in the cart all over the store)
Here’s to happy healing, and being grateful for blessings,
