April Fools usually means everyone is pulling pranks on each other. A day at work doesn’t mean we can’t give someone a nice little chuckle. Trying to keep thing work safe, not cruel and simple is a little hard. My coworkers and I gave everyone on Monday morning a little surprise when opening the break room fridge, googly eyes everywhere!

Color Scenes: An All Alpha Female Experience Exhibit

This Friday I had the opportunity to present my work at a small exhibit in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The show was curated by Color Scenes & La Femme Cheri. The exhibit was a collection of 40 talented ladies, all displaying 2 pieces each.
I displayed 2/3 of the “Oracle” pieces I have been working on, and guess what… sold 2/3 pieces.
What a blessing. Pictured above is the proud owner of the small green piece, who now gets to go home happily cared for.
The larger Oracle piece in blue is ready to be shipped to Orlando, Florida. I gotta say, I’m feeling pretty blessed that my babies get owners who appreciate them. If I kept all the pieces I have made thorough out the years, I wouldn’t we be able to walk through my tiny apartment. I have one more “Oracle” piece that’s looking for a new owner, you know how to find me.

New Illustration: Messy Bathroom
Put on some lipstick and put yourself together. Oh, and don’t forget to clean up the mess afterwards.
This new illustration is the second of my interior inspired art pieces. I’ve been influenced by environment lately, and have been trying to branch out to different things. A setting can tell stories, they’re also filled with so much personality. I’m going to keep working on a couple of these, and can’t wait to see what I come up with.
Behind the Scenes: Oracles

I finally picked up a paintbrush this week. I have showcase coming up where I’ll be presenting a few pieces. I took a stroll through Michael’s, and every time I walk in, I feel like a little kid in a toy store. I fell in love with a few bottles of metallic paint. I ended up purchasing 3 bottles, a nice teal, a gold and a bronze… I think that was my favorite.
I had no idea what I was going to paint, but I was going to make it happen. I threw on some trap music, and then some electronic and just let the brushes do their work. I’ll show you guys the end result soon!
