Illustration: Working On My Fitness

It seems like most of my feed on my instagram is all about fitness at the moment. A lot of his to do with the fact that I went a following spree ever since I started to work out. Yes, you read that right. It’s been a long month, but I’m so happy I decided to take care of myself a little bit better.
I know I have some extra weight on me, but I honestly couldn’t care less. I wanted to better my health and for me to do that, I need to focus on making better choices. Plus all the extra endorphins has left me in such a great mood lately! Talk about win-win.
My dad is the perfect workout partner, we meet up after work do our best to keep each other motivated. We have the cutest little routine when it comes to working on our abs (or lack thereof) .
I drew this illustration in honor of this new chapter in my life. Though my butt looks nothing close to that (gooooals) Here’s to hoping it’s not just a stage, but a lifestyle change. Wish me luck guys….

and yes, after 25 squats, I walk away wobbling like bambi.

New Artwork| Whirlwind of Motivation

I want to say life has been busy, but that would be lying. It’s just  been exhausting.  Every day of the week seems to have motive for the day, work, or another job (yes, because I’m currently working two) or something else in between. I’ve recently decided to sign up for the gym. I used to go some time ago, and like every time I try the only thing that gets slimmer is my wallet. This time, no more… and I have to say, I think I’ve been doing pretty well. Not really about results, because I’m far from that, but I’m actually sticking to picking up the habit.

The first day I think I went in just a little too hard on all that motivation. I ran for about 30 minutes, and worked on my arms with some dumbbells.  The next 2-3 days I was in so much pain, my triceps killing me, every single time I even tried to lift up my phone. That didn’t stop me from going back, I just know that I had to pace myself. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is this body I’m trying to build.

Some inspiration did happen to come about from all this flexing.  I picked up my ipad and started sketching this curly headed Minxette. I finally invested some time in making a curly afro latina, it was a little tougher than expected, but all the swirls are there, promise.

Here’s to hoping that I’m inspired by it all, more artwork and more time at the gym.
