Illustration: Dislocated

It’s been a hell of week. My brother is out of commission due to an accident. It’s been scary thinking about what if?
We’re all so grateful he’s alive. Right now he’s taking it slow since it’s time for healing.
This illustration came naturally, seeing as he had one dislocated toe that needed to snapped back into place, and a fractured ankle that we’re waiting for the selling to go down.
See you guys soon, it’s time to slow down a bit.

Photography: Aiden’s Trampoline

One of my favorite things to do is to let kids be kids. Let’s face it, when we (adults) try so hard to get children to stay still for a photograph, it get’s a little complicated.
Sometimes it’s good to let go, and let the little humans express themselves the best way they know how- by playing.
Aiden is so full of energy, and I really wanted to capture that.
I asked him what his favorite toy today was, and he pulled out his trusty trampoline and told me all about it (while jumping up and down).
I’m so content with how these images came out, and if I would have forced him to sit still, I wouldn’t have captured how authentic and full of life he is.
What are some of your favorite ways to capture kiddies on camera?
Best,

Illustration: Glow Princess

Finding a balance between my 9-5, my photography sessions and illustration seems to be a juggling act I’m still trying to ace. My momma got on me yesterday for drawing while watching a movie. “This isn’t how you relax”.
“But, I am relaxing, I can be productive and relax at the same time”
She just looked at me and laughed. I continued to watch my movie and draw at the same time.

This illustration is inspired by glowprincesss and her gorgeous ways.

Photography: Mommy & Amaury

Capture all the memories. Yes, I’m the aunt running around with a camera, trying to make sure I catch it all. These kids are growing so fast, and it’s my job to make sure we never forget the little fingers, the innocent smiles, and the adorable little dimples. Since Amaury will be turning one soon, My sister Jula wanted me to photograph her mini me.
I’ve been dipping my toe in studio photography, and it’s a different world from natural lighting (out door photography). I have to learn how to manipulate and create light where it didn’t exist before. Not to mention, doing that while I have a squirming baby who wasn’t really in the mood to stay still. I told Jula to hop in the picture to make Ama feel a little more comfortable, and will you look at that, it actually worked!
I still have a lot to learn, and I’ll get there in due time, but for now, I’m pretty happy that my sister loved all the pictures, and I get to call that a win!
PS. Amaury’s all white outfit was provided by my trip to Cuba last year, and he has finally grown into it, pero que caballero!
Muchos besos,
