The day went by quicker than expected, it was dark and Zero has been advertising a show he’s going to be exhibiting his work alongside many other artists. Escape was held in an open old factory looking space turned gallery in Williamsburg, and all I kept thinking to myself was “hmmm, this is good space to throw a show.” That’s usually the first thing I notice when I enter someone else exhibit, looking for places for myself, is that selfish?
The music was blasting and in between every other hit song the dj was playing, a rapper performing his lyrics would appear, bopping along to the beat I was enjoying myself. The place was packed and as soon as I walked in I quickly recognized Wendy, also known as DottyLaAbstract. We’ve been following each other for years on social media, and probably have been around the same people hanging out about twice, but that’s about as far as that goes. I say my hellos, to the friendly face, and compliment her work. She’s talented and i have always liked seeing her work online, this time, I got to see the shadows, highlights and lines in real life, that’s the best. I have no idea how she does her faces, they’re beautiful. (See her and her work below)
I asked for Zero, especially since I haven’t seen him in the longest time, it would have been amazing to catch up, but apparently I just missed him. Booooo…
His work is always familiar to me, I gravitated towards his wall and his infamous moon and space canvases were the main theme. His moons are always on point, they’re never flat, they have dimensions and seem just like the real thing… I like to think it has a lot to do with that telescope he loves hovering over that’s planed on his roof, talk about loving what you do.
I’m glad I got to see Wendy and Zero exhibit their work. Congrats my fellow visionaries.

Art shows used to be all I used to do at one point in my life. I love the scene, loved networking, plus there’s something so special about seeing brush strokes up close. I miss it so much, I vowed to start going to some more.
So here I am, and Ashley is the perfect date.
We arrived at Williamsburg and decided no to stay too long, but not before making our rounds looking closely at all the pieces. I have to say, even though everything was great, I was a sucker for the bathroom that was all tagged up.
Getting food after was delicious, Ash and I split mac and cheese, pulled pork and mozzarella sticks. I was little upset they had apple pie milkshake in the menu, but they didn’t have it in the diner.
Until next time.

My work shift blessed me with the ability of leaving early. Oli and I made plans to catch up and I was excited. Oli and I were never really close in High School, and for some reason we’ve grown attached to the hip nowadays. I’m not complaining one bit.
We met up in McCarren Park in Wililamsburg, and waited on the long ass line to get to the pool. For the first time in almost ever, I was actually looking forward to tanning. Something I hate to do.
I feel like this summer has started so late for me, but that doesn’t mean my skin has to reflect that. Good thing Oli was prepared and we drowned ourselves in tanning oil. I felt like a chicken being rotated in a rotisserie.
It sucks that we couldn’t take pictures in the pool, but hanging out with Oli is always a breath of fresh air. i get to vent and just let out all of my frustrations. She’s like a cheap therapist…hahaha.
When we jumped in the pool, some 2 girls decided to forget what personal space was, and propped their towels directly right in front of us. How rude! I have no shame, and moved their towel for them. She noticed, I’m sure… but she’ll get over it. I was so hype that I got a bit of sun, but now that I’m looking at myself, I don’t see it anymore…booo.

When you hear the name 40oz Van, the first thing that comes to mind is big asses. 40 Ounce is known for his Tumblr full of beautiful women who show the world some skin, and they’re not afraid to do it. With a fashion line, and so many projects going, he’s become pretty infamous when throwing parties, usually In Riverside Park somewhere, everyone shows up with weed, forties, and a whole bunch of friends to kill the whole day talking shit with. I always tell myself I’m going to go, and fail every year. This time, held in Williamsburg in an event loft, I wasn’t going to miss it.
As soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by arcade games, mini golf, a bar, dominoes and jenga tournaments, live music performances and even food being grilled in the back.
Chris decided to laugh at me, because he asked if I wanted to go, little did he know, that I had already RSVP’ed both of us about 2 days ago.
Since the event was being sponsored by Modelo beer, we had just that, while making a bee line straight to the food. Shrimp Quesadillas it was, super spicy, at least for me, but good non- the less… even though I only had one bite, since I decide to snag some off of Chris.
The place was packed, it was definitely “hood” in there, but everyone was so nice and happy, so I had no complaints whatsoever. The rapper, (wish I got his name) was really good, the crowd was hype and head bopping.
It was a good night, see you guys soon!

For the first time in a long time, I was way to busy to bother taking pictures of my night. Good thing Nikki was on camera duty and I managed to get a few to share with you guys. As I mentioned before, long time friend Pia was in town from L.A. So it was our duty to jam pack her stay with good times and a lot of drinks. This is one of those nights where there was plenty of both of those to go around.
Location: Bembe in Williamsburg.
I had never been there, but have heard good things, I was mainly excited because everyone chose a spanish spot, something I’ve been urging to do since forever. I got to talking to one of the dj’s at the bar, while I waited for everyone to arrive, and he mentioned how every day of the week there’s something different going on. Reggae nights, Jazz nights, etc. I was all in, but for now, I was exited to hear some salsa. Which I later found out was more Brazilian style, so everything was more of a electronic latin mix. Not that I’m complaining, and neither was anyone else. We shaking our hips, all on top of each other!
Red Stripes, shots, ginger ales and Jamesons.
We were feeling the buzz in no time, can’t you tell by that last picture?

Pia is back in NYC from L.A. for about a week. Which means we have to jam pack her stay with a whole bunch of hanging out and drinking. I mean, it’s what we do best. I headed to Williamsburg to met up with Nikki and Pia, dinner at SEA it was. I’ve passed this place many times and never stepped inside. I’ve seen the swings from the windows and I now I had the chance of jumping in .
Pia looked gorgeous and I missed her so much! The girls ordered sangria while I decided to go with a Pina Colada. It tasted like the cocitos icees just with liquor. Yum. Since I wasn’t really that hungry I decided to go with Sushi, while Nikki had chicken and Pia had a fish with the whole face attached. Creepy!
After our meal we headed to Berry Park, and since it was Sunday it meant the streets were as vacant as ever. I swear I have never seen Williamsburg so empty. When we arrived at the bar, we got to chatting up a storm, laughing at some dude who was way too wasted for his own good. Who then later on busted his ass, which was hilarious. Then out of nowhere his friend decided to come towards us. Great, he sits right next to me!
Someone was a little too friendly, and I didn’t appreciate the way he would brush his hand over my shoulder whenever he attempted to speak. That’s if we even understood him, because he has such a thick accent, who he claimed was French.
Eh, I wasn’t impressed, but it seemed like he was pretty impressed with Nikki, because he kept flirting with her, while she just looked at him in confusion.
Then he did the horrible mistake of trying to guess what our nationalities were. Epic Fail! According to him, Pia was African, Nikki was Jewish and I was Asian. I don’t think I’ve heard anything funnier in the longest time. Wow! The balls on this guy.
I know I’ve been out of the dating pool for a long time now, but is this what happens?
Douchebag guys being overly confident, trying to find any reason to speak to a girl and worse yet, find a reason to touch her?
ew. I was so turned off, I excused myself from the table, returned my glass to the bar, and after that 3 second delay, I sat my ass right next to Pia which was on the other side of where he was. Because yes, he invited himself to sit down with us.
After my beer, Pia’s ginger beer and Nikki’s girly drink, it was time to head out… but not before we took advantage of the empty streets and decided to go a little over board with pictures.
I guess that’s what happens when you gave girly dates in the first place.
See you guys soon!
Ps. That last picture, totally looks like Nikki and Pia are making out, which I thought was hilarious. I guess the angle I was in didn’t really help! hahahhaa, they’re gonna kill me.

McCarren Pool got some love and attention from my godson Zj and I. Yes, he was pretty cranky at first because he didn’t feel like traveling (he hates long train rides) and even though he was was recently fed, he insisted he was hungry. Kids right?
Once he saw that blue water, it was all smiles and splashes everywhere. We couldn’t really bring a camera in, but know that it was a nice relaxing time. He didn’t want to leave after a while, and I was just glad he was having some fun. I have to admit, he was so well behaved, I was impressed!
I was more on watch mode then playing mode, but that didn’t mean I didn’t jump into the pool.. plus, there was this cute lifeguard there….oooo eeee!
Not like it mattered, hahaha.
I’ll see you guys soon!
