Patron: Jasmine’s favorite tequila.
Jasmine would have been 26 years old today. Customary, we (my cousins and I ) had to take a shot of Patron in Jasmine’s name. (see here for previous birthday).
With the babies fussing about, we weren’t really “turned up” we were more like “turned down”. We were exhausted from the 2 minutes of reggae we did manage to dance, and from all the explosive diapers that needed changing. Maybe we’re just getting old. Since Sasha, my cousin is still settling in her new place, and I found no shot glasses in sight, I found some cute little mini coffee cups that would do just fine. Even though the girls were laughing at me for it.
It was a comfy night in, I got to spend time with my beautiful cousins, their babies and their men, and Raymond hahaha, don’t think I forgot you. ♥
Check out my Outfit of the day illustration below.
Happy Birthday Jasmine, I love you!

I’ve been holding on to this for a little while now, just waiting for the right time to publish it. What better day than Jasmine’s birthday? Today you would have been 26 years young! I’m at a loss of words, because I honestly don’t know what to express, but the obvious. I miss you like crazy. If you were here right now, you would’ve been counting down and getting us all hyped up. You would have had a gorgeous rocking dress with some killer heels and big hair. Beautiful, just like you.
Today, I’m meeting up with the rest of our cousins since we’ll be cutting a cake in your name, and of course, taking some shots of Patron in your name… you and your tequila, I don’t know how you did it!
Love you so much Jas, I hope you like my gift to you.
I’m sure birthdays in heaven are way more extravagant than here… rocking your all white gown.
Happy birthday beautiful.

Many of you are already aware of the tradgic misfortune in my family. My beautiful cousin Jasmine, was sadly taken away from us by her boyfriend. Though it is said “time heals all wounds” it still feels like yesterday, and I’m missing her each and everyday.
If you know anyone that is in a rough situation and/or relationship, please don’t be afraid to speak up.
It can save a life.

On another note, I want to give a quick shout out to my cousin Melanie, Jasmine’s sister. In this small amount of time she has started and is running The Jasmine Nunez Foundation .
The Jasmine Nunez Foundation is a non- profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness on Domestic Violence. Prevention is the best way to End the Silence & what better way to start then educating our young ladies of todays society on the signs of abusive relationships.
They have recently made it to the front page of their local spanish paper in Springfield, Massachussetts!
I’m so proud of you Mel

I set up and sent out massive text messages to my family. We will be meeting up at Jasmine’s mural for the first time at 2′ o clock.
Silly me, showed up late… how embarrassing. I picked up two bouquets of flowers, one colorful and one purple, Jasmine’s favorite color. I also picked up three candles… and headed out.
I met up with my bestfriend Ari, which you all should know by now, and sister Julissa. It took us almost close to forever to get there, but I knew damn well, it was worth it.
I was actually very proud and satisfied with the outcome of how many of my family members showed up. Especially since many failed to respond to my messages. Once, I saw my Abuela Magaly I knew everyone was serious. That’s the head honcho. I was also glad I wasn’t the only one who brought anything. My cousin Sasha was a doll and brought flowers as well.
We all said a prayer…. everyone seemed to love the mural, I was so grateful that the three artist, Zacto, Phil and Sopa blessed us…. and even better yet, came and met my family.
A short while later, everyone split and I stayed, catching up with the guys, especially since I haven’t seen them in so long. Ari and Jula decided to keep me company, which made me happy.
I was asked to paint, and of course I couldn’t resist…. It’s been so long since I’ve picked up a can and put in some work.
The girls have seen many pictures of my work, but have never seen me in action…. let alone this being unplanned, no sketch or anything.
They even started to imitate the Minxette. Since I was painting last night, this was the pose that was etched in my brain, so I stuck with it.
Sopa did my letters, especially since I’m so terrible at them, while I worked on my character.
