I haven’t seen my cousins in quite some time. Jonahs was turning two years old, and knowing Sasha and Ramgy, they were going to go in. Last year they had a cute sailors, aquatic theme, which was way too adorable. They dressed up as a sailors and were a huge hit. This time, everything was sports related, so when they came out with matching jersey’s everyone was giving out compliments back and forth.
Getting there for me was a bit of a mission though. I had a weekend bag with me, and I was also going to be picking up two kittens the next day, so taking two trains and a bus was such an inconvenience. Maybe I should finally get my act together and learn how to drive already. My gorgeous date was MaryAnn, since we usually get together on Wednesdays, we decide to make a flip and hang out on a weekend. She’s such a trooper, especially since she came out so far just to hang out with little old me.
She was so excited when she got a taste of that cotton candy though!
This get together was a curl take down. I was so happy when I saw my cousins rocking their natural swirls. It’s a beautiful thing.
Jonahs was looking too cute in his jersey , blue and white stripes and his tiny little fitted. Now that he’s getting a little older I see the resembles to Sasha so much more now. I find it so damn cute.If you know me at all, or even just an ounce of a bit, you know that whenever I hear music, I’m already up and dancing. When that Salsa started to play, I grab anybody and everybody and pulled them to the open space we called a dance floor.
When the little kid party was over, it was time for the adults to have a little fun. We headed to Sasha’s and Ramgy’s put the music on loud, served the drinks and got the hookah started. You know latinos, any chance for a party, is a great party.

One of those Sundays, you know, the ones you spend with family, and this time friends. Feels like I don’t do much anymore but work and spend time with blood. I’m not complaining though, I’ve missed out on a lot these past couple years. I feel like we finally get to be “us” again…naturally.
My brother Kiki has always been about speed, and in my head (and on my phone’s contact list) he’s known as speed demon. Whenever my sister Julissa sees that he’s taking one of his bikes out for a spin, she already has her snapchat open and a helmet on. Lokita.
This time my pops joined in and took a quick spin up and down the block as well….in chankletas! We all didn’t really feel like hanging out in the backyard today, so we decided to go a little bigger… the neighborhood’s backyard. Let me explain. There’s a point at the end of our neighborhood, that is solitude, with a beautiful view of the water, the Whitestone bridge and all the planes headed towards La Guardia on their way to land home safely.
I used to come here all the time when I was a kid, or should I say teenager. Every time I felt like I had no one to talk to, I would walk or take my bike and just ride. Sit upon the rocks and just think.Spending time with loved ones, that’s everything. Kiki got on his motorcycle with Jula holding on tight, Gio and friends drove, while I, for old times sake, grabbed a bike and pedaled my way over there, feeling the breeze hit my face.
Even though so many know about this point, to me it has always felt like my own little secret. We all sat and joked around. Luckily I, at least I think so, got a chance to sneak in some shots. You know me, carrying a camera everywhere that I go. That sky was looking great man. I’ve also been using my 50mm portraits lens and I’m trying so hard to get used to it. Not because it’s difficult, but because it challenges me to move around instead of being lazy and just zooming in. When I was finally getting into it, I noticed my battery was dying…womp womp. So I limited the usage of my camera until deemed necessary. Seemed to worked out just fine.
Fernando came to join us a bit later on to the night, and if you know Fernando, you know that means he didn’t come alone. His loyal girlfriend hookah, came to join in on the fun. And that we did, a few smokes and a beautiful view. What a night.

It was time to celebrate and my family knows how to do it right, and we always do it big. I swear whenever something is going down, is like a herd that sticks together. Every time we see each other, it’s like we haven’t seen each other in years, and there’s always plenty of bochinche (gossip) to catch up with. I spent most of my time chatting up a storm with my cousin Janneice, who’s up in Connecticut, and is desperately waiting for her husband to make it back to her.
Whenever we see each other we always have a main topic at hand, boys. Aaaah, isn’t it great?
This time we had some good food to recharge us, and after grabbing some beers it was time to hang out outside with the rest of the cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. My not so baby cousin Raymond is always in charge of the hookah, and like animals in the wild, we make a circle surrounding our prey.
The babies ended up taking a huge nap, so it was some adult time.
And we all love that!| my not so baby cousin Raymond and I |
| Juniors ready to party! |
| Cousinly love: Janneice, Sasha and I || The Mayhem || I love when Magelis is in tropical colors ♥ |
| Jonahs waking up from a much needed nap, and Magelis being held by my godmother, her grandmother. They were celebrities for the day with all of their outfit changes, Lady Gaga has nothing on them |
| The men getting busy playing dominoes, true dominicans |If only it were simple enough to explain what’s going on in these pictures. The men decided to play a trust exercise of their own. They had to hold themselves up, while they lay on the other, someone was to remove the chairs and they had to hold their position, without using their hands.
I guess you all know what happens next!
Liquor is brave people.
See you guys next time.

My not so baby cousin is officially 19 years young. I arrived early and got to help my godmother with all the shopping for the BBQ that was happening tonight. You had to see us, running around that supermarket like crazy ladies. We were running short on time and had so much to do. Raymond was expecting about 15 friends to come through and it was time for the grilling to begin, My godmother being the pro that she is, was on point and finished everything just as needed. The hookah was out and orange vodka was being passed around. Silly us forgot to bring out the cake that my cousin Sasha went nuts to get, so with most of his friends gone, Happy Birthday was sang with his tight close friends and family. Not a bad deal anyway.
Love you Raymond, wish you the best in life always.

After the festivities we didn’t want the party to end. Most of us headed to my godfather and godmother’s house for more drinks, hookah and salsa dance lessons.
My godfather has the best dance moves!
We ended up falling asleep around 6am, and sleeping over, after all of our laughs and shit talking. Here’s a few pics of our activities.
My handsome men, my fiance and padrino (godfather)
My cousin Sasha, who is expecting a baby boy and her other half Ramgy. The stupidity and amazingness all in one shot. Love it. My cousin Janneice, Q and I took over Raymond’s room! Remember the gift I got for my godmother? Look how pretty it looks in her house.
(Also, I guess now you all know my real name 🙂 )I caught my cousin Raymond once he knocked out. hehehe.
Alsoooooo, once we woke up, the boys, Raymond and Q decided to act like assholes, waiting on ME to get up and make them breakfast. According to them, I was the only BOOBS awake, so it was my responsibility to feed them.
Not only did I make them suffer and wait, I got up to cook, since I was hungry and decided to play a simple tiny prank on them.
I ended up dying the eggs green, using some food coloring my godmother had in the kitchen. My godfather joked and said nothing was safe, I must color everything.
I laughed at the truth of it.
hahaha, until next time my loves.

I am no longer a clubbing person, like I used to be, I feel like I’ve outgrown that stage in my life. Don’t get me wrong, when I’m invited to go out for someones birthday, I’ll make an appearance, have a few drinks and even dance my night away, but for me to be the one to insist on a night out like that,
ha, I don’t think so.
It’s so over done and not even remotely close to being something I would plan.
Sara, came with a bag full fruits and started making some sangria for all of us to enjoy.
Munching on pizza, we so fat 🙂
Chevy was working a miracle with my brother’s hookah, which I have to return, since I grabbed it by mistake, thinking it was mine, because my old one was also green.
Since there was a piece missing, we ended up youtubing how to make it work with an apple.
Since I wanted a new one anyway, I decided to go run off to the store and ended up buying a pretty pink one, while Chevy fell in love with an ice cream that she swore was discontinued and we ended up buying like three.
I gave Sara this little present that ended up reminding me of her, one day while shopping.
It was a book about anti porn, but not precisely that, it was more of that fact that it explained how feminists react to it and how negative it may make women be perceived.
Chevy, as adorable as she is brung, Cranium, which we ended up playing and laughing at our stupidity.
We also made friendship bracelets while talking about boys.
This was the bracelet I made for Chevy.
Her favorite colors, blue and green.
Oli was struggling to make mine, but I loved it.. and as soon as she finished I wore it as an anklet instead.
Mine is purple and white ♥
Sara made Oli’s and Chevy made Sara’s.
I told he, that canvas was officially on sale, and 2 minutes later I was wrapping up the canvas in silver foil for her to take home safely.
I love when my pieces go to good homes, and I know she’ll be appreciated in Sara’s place.
Thank you boo, love you! Pretty colored lemon tinted by the wine.Contortionist in the making. Caught taking a selfie! Oli came with cupcakes, yum! After all the games, we took turns doing each others makeup and had a little fun….
Util next time guys!

Sometimes liquor can be your best friend.
After a long day of having plans to be super hicked out and go out dancing to watched a band play tipico live.. we were all excited.
For those that don’t know what tipico is, it’s basically Dominican music, it’s a very fast merengue. And I for one, love it.
I would rather make plans to go dance spanish music than to listen to english music anyway.
But maybe that’s just because I’m latina.
After our tipico adventures fell through the cracks, we all wanted to go out and decided to head to Viva Toro in Julievets request.
It’s in Williamsburg and just like Johnny Utah’s it had a mechanical bull inside.
Unlike Johnny Utah’s (which I’ve been to sooo many times due to the fact that i used to work in 5th Ave) the bull is an additional expense, which gave Viva Toro a negative point.
But Viva Toro redeemed themselves over Johnny’s because of the DJ.
He was on point, I was excited and ready to dance.
I haven’t danced in so long!
And no, me dancing in front of my mirror with a b room does not count.
Since Julievet wasn’t up to shaking her hips, I got to take turns with my pick of dancing partners.
I danced merengues with my brother Luis.
Salsa with Julievet’s brother Frank.
Since I didn’t see him in a few days, due to work and craziness,
I was missing him so much.
Ciroc and hookah, what a lovely mix, bleand it with great music and amazing company.
It was a good night, and even though I’m not a partying person like I used to be when I was younger, I wouldn’t mind having more of these.
