I’m a firm believer in living life to the fullest. Life hits you hard, and if you don’t take time to enjoy it’ll pass you in an instant.
This year started off with rocky moments that I never wish to relive again. I was in an abusive relationship that I wanted to work desperately, and it was a toll on me when I finally smartened up and and decided to walk away. I hold no hard feelings, and I hope we all learn to move forward while doing it positively. I hope nothing but the best for all those who have made bad choices, because it doesn’t necessarily mean it makes you a bad person. I have wanted nothing but good times this year, and I wish I could say I didn’t have any, but let’s face it… we’re all human. Life is a huge rollercoaster. I can say however, that those who I have blessed to call friends and family, who have been there, I am more than grateful for your presence.
I adore all of you.
This year brought me new adventures, new jobs, new friends, new clarity.
Sometimes you don’t appreciate what you have until you see it all bunched up into one piece. I started making this collage for you guys, and I just started thinking to myself…. damn, I’ve had a good year. I’ve traveled to the Dominican Republic and visited family that I haven’t seen in 15 years. My nephew Tristan was born. I’ve countless collaborations when it came to my Body Art series with fellow friend photographer David Zayas Jr. I’ve had numerous different hair colors. I went flyboarding. Ran three different 5k’s. Have been exercising religiously. Got to experiment and expand with my love of photography. Had the greatest time in Tennesse for the Bonnaroo music festival, road trip style. I got to grow a better bond with my godson ZJ, since I babysat him all summer. Had a lot of drunken nights full of dancing with amazing friends. And so much more.
Negatives are temporary if you keep striving to be positive.
I hope you all had an amazing 2014, because 2015 is a new chapter that is welcoming you in. Take all opportunities for granted. Appreciate those around you, and stay humble.
And a special thank you to all of you who have been there through my crazy journey, physically or virtually.
